The reason they go is because poor nations think they will be able to wheedle money out of the rich nations due to climate guilt. Also, the “dignitaries” go because it’s an all expense-paid vacation on the public’s dime.

all meetings were political, but they’ll be guided by scientific findings to come up with solutions and agreements. maybe i’m missing something, but what political incentive do these countries have in going to this meeting and not coming to an agreement on emission controls
